Pakistanis Traveling to UAE on Visit Visa Must Follow New Requirements

Tourists from Pakistan planning to visit the UAE, especially Dubai, have been urged to meet all necessary visit visa requirements to avoid travel disruptions. One key guideline emphasizes the need for passengers to purchase return tickets from the same airline they use for their outbound flight. Failure to comply with this rule could lead to delays or the need for additional approvals.

Recently, both airlines and officials in Pakistan have reminded travelers to ensure they fulfill all tourist visa conditions. These include having proof of accommodation, enough funds in cash or credit to cover their stay, and a valid return ticket. Pakistani nationals who do not meet these criteria have been denied boarding, causing unnecessary inconvenience.

SereneAir, a private Pakistani airline, advised passengers to purchase their return tickets directly from SereneAir to ensure a smoother travel process. The airline cautioned that return tickets from other carriers could require additional approvals during check-in. Similarly, Airblue, another private airline, warned that passengers with return tickets from different airlines might need Airblue to obtain approval from UAE authorities before they can receive their boarding pass.

Airblue further emphasized that travelers on a visit visa must ensure their return ticket is valid within their visa duration. They also need to present a confirmed hotel booking or provide proof of residence, such as an Emirates ID if staying with friends or relatives. During check-in, staff will collect documentation like hotel bookings, return tickets from other airlines, and proof of address.

With high traffic between Pakistan and the UAE, particularly Dubai, due to the large number of Pakistani nationals living and working there, airlines have tightened the enforcement of these rules. Approximately 1.7 million Pakistanis reside in the UAE, and millions more visit each year for tourism or to seek employment.

Fly Jinnah, which operates flights between Pakistan and the UAE, also stressed that passengers must have a valid return ticket, confirmed accommodation with a valid phone number, and at least $500 (Dh1,835) in cash or a credit card to cover their stay. Those who fail to meet these requirements will not be allowed to board.

Additionally, Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, urged Pakistani visitors to comply with all visit visa requirements and to avoid job hunting while on a tourist visa. He emphasized that individuals seeking employment should obtain an employment visa before traveling. The ambassador also noted that there are plenty of opportunities for Pakistani tourists to enjoy Dubai Life, with numerous attractions such as museums, mosques, malls, and more.
